Penguins And A Picnic
So the other day Andrew looks at me and says ‘let’s go for a drive’.
It’s 4 o’clock, we’d need dinner soon and you want to take two hungry beasts for a drive… I just look at him quizzically, maybe a little WTF in my eyes.
He explains. Let’s get the camera, swing by the store and get some food for a picnic and take some sunset photos on the coast.
Late February in Canada may not be a time when you think sunset picnic by the coast. But Nova Scotia has had unseasonably high temperatures this year – upwards of 20 degrees some days.
So we bundled the kids into the car and made our way to the coast.
Being a brand ambassador for Philips Avent has its perks, I got sent the Phillips Avent My Penguin Sippy Cups to review. I wasn’t so sure about these Sippy cups, I love penguins but could this cup really stand up to my 11 month old and my 2.5 year old? This impromptu picnic would be its first test run.
The answer is yes. I’m a convert.
The angled silicone spout has a built in valve for leak proof drinking. It also helps develop the natural drinking position kids need. The seamless integration of the cup’s soft touch grip handles let both kids drink without my help. And of course everything is BPA free and dishwasher safe. And let’s face it: with small kids dishwasher safe is a key feature.
But I made a mistake. My mistake? Victoria wanted the blue one and I only brought the black and the pink. She begrudgingly took the black and passed Edward the pink.
All and all it was a successful outing. The kids stayed dry while drinking (a sign of success most days), we had a lovely picnic at the coast, and the photos turned out beautifully. Take a look for yourself.
